Classic tomato soup with garlic bread

This classic Italian soup is always a favorite. Tastes delicious when used with ripe tomatoes in the summer with fresh basil, but canned tomatoes can also be used.

650 g tomatoes
one clove of garlic
50 g chopped onion
500 ml vegetable broth
1 teaspoon sugar
Salt and pepper for taste
Optional: fresh basil to taste
Cream or fresh cream for serving
one clove of garlic
olive oil
bread slices

Cut the tomatoes into 4 pieces. Peel the garlic.
Place the soup ingredients in the soup pot.
Close the lid, then select the Cream Soup program and wait until the soup cooker is ready.
Meanwhile, prepare the garlic bread. Preheat oven or grill to 200°C. Cut the garlic clove into two pieces. Put a drop of oil on the slices of bread and rub the bread with garlic. Bake the bread slices in the oven for a few minutes until they are crispy.
When the soup is ready, open the lid and pour the soup into suitable containers. Add some whipped cream or some fresh cream. Serve the soup with garlic croutons.
Tip: In the summer, tomatoes taste sweet, so you don’t need to add sugar.
